WHAT DOES YOUR TRUTH FEEL LIKE?
Updated: Dec 10, 2019

"Intuition is the whisper of the soul." - Jiddu Krishnamurti
As a life coach, people come to me for a lot of reasons, and some of the biggest struggles people have are around making significant decisions - big and small.
I don't claim to know the answers, and when it comes down to it, each person that comes to me already has the answer within them. As a life transformational life coach, it's my job to empower my clients with tools and strategies, so they connect to their truth and make choices from an aligned place.
Trusting Your Intuition
We all have inner guidance, and I believe it knows best. When you live from this place, there is no need to explain yourself or justify your feelings to anyone. You and only you can understand what your heart knows. Were not taught in school what intuition is, but we all know that "gut" feeling.
I think it's essential to explore and understand how it feels when you know your truth. That way, you can put into practice making decisions from a place of connection and clarity and avoid getting swept up in situations that don't feel right. A key ingredient is believing in yourself, your feelings, and your heart. They will always tell you the right thing.
What Stops You?
I think most of us believe our inner voice has value, but some of us have a hard time accessing it. Our ego is usually scared of either failure or rejection, and we can easily get distracted because of this and simply refuse to listen. Because of that, we might even ask for outside help or make a decision based on what we think we should do.
The thoughts that accompany a scared ego might be:
'I'm not good enough.'
'What if I fail.'
'I'm not worthy.'
'I'm not ready.'
'What if I embarrass myself?'
'What if I succeed.'
Improve Access To Your Intuition
1. Slow Down, Be Silent And Listen
You find clarity when you're not busy. It sounds simple – and it is. You can't hear your intuition if you're not listening. Take a walk in nature, meditate, pray, or get creative. Sometimes I get my strongest instincts when I'm completely lost in staring at the sunset!
2. Practice Mindfulness
Awareness helps you to be fully immersed in any moment. Mindfulness is a great technique to filter out all the distractions in your environment and your mind. It's a practice - and if you commit, you'll see how using mindfulness techniques will help you to connect to your intuition quicker and easier.
3. Notice Sensations In Your Body
Your body provides powerful information if you take the time to actually feel what's happening and hear your body's messages. You can use your body to access your truth - so don't ignore the physical signs and trust it can be a source. The more you cultivate somatic awareness, the more sensitive you become and learning the power of the body's intuition will only create well-being and healing in your life.
4. Trust The Messages You Receive
Do you feel like you hear your intuition but you aren't sure how to trust it? Well, you can start by documenting your intuitive thoughts. Record how you get your intuitive hits - Do you get images, thoughts, feelings, hunches, or is it a full-body or mind knowing that seems to come out of nowhere? Once you get familiar with how your intuition works, you will start to see proof that your intuition is accurate. You will also believe in yourself more, and it will become natural to trust your inner voice.
5. Be Honest With Yourself
Sometimes being honest with yourself is hard because it can feel scary to discover your truth. For some, the truth is yearning to get out, but they stuff if down because of fear, doubt, or simply because they're carrying around someone else's dream. The whispers won't stop - when it's the truth - it can't stop. So take a step back and ask yourself if you're being honest with yourself about the message and direction you're receiving.

Writing in a journal can be a wonderful method for tuning into your intuition. It's a safe space to release your emotions, process your thoughts work through obstacles. So next time you're making a decision, and the answer does not seem clear - get out your pen and paper and write freely - let the words flow in a stream of consciousness onto the paper without aiming to be perfect. Don't censor your thoughts or process them with your rational mind. Even if things don't seem to make sense, write it all down anyway. Write down whatever comes up!
Break out your journal and ask yourself a few questions:
What is really going on with _______?
What do I need to know about _______?
Why do I feel blocked?
How can I improve this situation?
What’s the energy of the person, situation, or circumstance telling me?
What is the next best step?
What am I missing?
Ways To Stay Connected To Your Intuition
Keep track of when your intuition is accurate.
Learn how your intuition communicates. Experiment to see what works for you.
Take time to pause each day.
Make a commitment to listen even if the truth feels scary.
Notice when you're ignoring the little voice and ask yourself, "Why?"
Share your intuitive hunches with someone.
Notice how it feels when you make choices based on your intuition and notice how it feels when you let your mind override, and you ignore your truth.
Trust - trust - trust yourself.
The Answers Are All Within YOU - Not Anyone Else
When you tap into your truth - you don't need to explain yourself to people or trust others over yourself even if you think they might know better. You know deep down what the truth is for you, and sometimes it's a tough decision - and sometimes it might feel more comfortable to ignore it. Your time is limited, don't waste it in being trapped in other people's possibilities, wake up to the truth inside of you and live from a place of integrity and authenticity.
