My word for 2019 is (drum roll please) "ALLOW!"

It took me a while, and I tried on a few words. I even announced my word to family and friends - and changed it.

And declared it again - and changed it. And I'm announcing it again, friends! And guess what, I'm not changing a thing this time because it feels so right. It fits!

ALLOW. Allow health. Allow love. Allow abundance. Allow flow. Allow imperfection. Allow sadness, joy, fear, doubt, happiness, etc. The full spectrum!

The day I chose my word my in-laws took our son for the night. I was so excited because Jason and I were going to go out on a much-needed date and guess what. Mama was tired. There was a moment when I thought I could push through and then I thought of my word - ALLOW. I also had some work to do (as always), but I decided to allow myself to lay down for a nap. Well, that 4pm nap turned into a 12-hour sleep and no date (sorry honey), but the next day I felt AMAZING. Apparently, I needed it and so glad I listened.

Ok, so that's one example of "ALLOW."

This word is also important to me right now because I know that I've been resisting some things coming into my life because of my mindset. You might know it - it's a scarcity mindset where your actions and thoughts stem from a place of lack. Now I wasn't doing it in all areas of my life - but even if I'm doing it in one area that's enough to make a change!

It's time to sit back, be patient, trust and have faith that what I want to manifest, create and experience will show up - in the right time. I'm letting go of control (it doesn't mean I'm giving up the work!), and resistance (caused by my own fear and doubt). I also ALLOW you to be you and I'm not going to let that have anything to do with me and my worth.

So, in a nutshell, I'm ready to manifest with ease and recognize my emotions, feelings, wants and needs without guilt and the shoulds. Accept things and people as they are and trust everything is working out the way it's supposed to!

And finally, allow myself to receive all the gifts and blessings coming my way with peace and gratitude. It’s an art!

Break out your journal and ask yourself a few questions:

  • Reflect on 2018. What went well? What were your challenges? What did you learn? How did you grow?

  • Go over the different categories in your life. What areas in your life need work? Where are you in alignment. Where are you out of alignment?

  • Visualize the future. Who do you want to become? What's your ideal day or week? Where do you see yourself in 1 year? In 5 years? In 10 years?

  • When you think about 2019 - what is the one word you think will support the most while you're on your way to achieving your dreams and desires? What's the word that inspires you the most? Is there a word that would keep you motivated even through the tough times?


Once you have chosen your word, there are some things you can do to stay connected to it.

  • Place your word in a place where it's visible to you throughout the day.

  • Create a collage with cut-outs from a magazine or printed images found online.

  • Change your passwords to your word - and every time you log in you'll be reminded!

  • Send yourself updates + reminders on your phone.

  • Create a screensaver that captures the essence of your chosen word.

  • Tell your friends and family about your guiding word so they can hold you accountable.

  • Create a wallpaper for your computer with your word and images capturing how you want to feel.
